Hi, we have two Exide GC-135 batteries in our old motorhome. The coach has been in storage (batteries disconnected) for several years. We want to expand the two slide outs on the coach, but need power and are attempting to charge the batteries. We are using a Craftsman Charger MN 200.71232
As soon as we hook up the cables to the battery it starts flashing “Check Battery”. When we test it, it shows 0.0 volts.
Both batteries were quite low on fluid so we topped them off with distilled water.
Any thoughts from those of you who are mechanically inclined? Is the battery toast after sitting idle for years? Can this charger not charge deep cycle batteries?
Any help will be very much appreciated.
Thanx, JD
