Replace the pcb Protection boards of the swollen 603450 battery

Hello, i have this swollen 603450 battery from Corsair HS70.

This have a special 3 pin connector (unfortunately, hard to find in my country) and i have a new same pair from another project, but this one have only 2 pins, definitely not compatible on HS70.

I may ask if is possible to displace the original HS70 battery pcb (Protection boards) on my new 2pin battery? By welding the two tabs connected to the battery?

Or it’s a big no no?

Sorry if my question can be absurd, I’m really ignorant of batteries and working with them, but i have a quite of experience on tin weld.

And I would like to know what the yellow cable would be for?

Elver7 Update; It worked., I tried with a 1500mah and it worked great.

You can replace the PCB, thats fine, but you have to be careful and note that those tabs do not solder well, which is why theyre spot welded rather than soldered on. (its also cheaper in factories)

I did a big thing about the HS70 here -

same thing as you, the battery i bought first only had two pins, so swapped the board over.
