Based in SE QLD currently with a 2.8kW 8 year old system on single phase. We are looking at the feasibility to install a new 6.8kW panel system with a battery system with storage of approx 16-18KWh. Average summer daily usage around 35kWh and winter of 24kWh (4 people, AC, swimming pool, solar HW). We are currently getting confusing messages on the viability of various battery systems (LG, LG Them, Solax, Tesla Powerwall and Powerwall 2 ..) and whether this is cutting edge technology. We would appreciate any forum views on commercially available (in Australia) battery systems; we are currently leaning towards a Tesla Powerwall 2 system. We believe that our budget of $20K prohibits total off grid independence.
