Hi, This is my first post. I want to use 8 AAA alkaline batteries as a “ride-thru” source. The batteries would be in parallel with an external 12-volt power source which goes to zero for about 5 seconds every 1 to 1 ½ minutes. The batteries would be required to deliver about .5 amps to the load while the power supply is off. The external power supply can be adjusted to provide the correct voltage so as to allow the batteries to “trickle charge” when the power supply is on - so the ratio of charge to discharge time would be about 12:1 or 18:1.
All suggestions or comments will be greatly appreciated, thank you - Walt
