I have a robotic vacuum with a 2600mAh 14.4V 36.0Wh battery pack.
I want to make another battery pack.
If I get 4 Li-Ion cells rated at 2000mAh 3.7V each and use the current pack’s circuit board and connector, will this work? Assume that I have basic assembly skills and can assemble the parts given the new cells into a new battery pack.
Here are my questions:
The new pack won’t blow up the vacuum as the volts are the same, correct?
I should get more than three times the runtime, correct?
Will the current charger continue to charge the pack to 8000mAh, or do you think it will stop when it hits the current pack’s 2600mAh capacity? And is that controlled by the charging apparatus, or the board that is in the battery pack?
These are probably very basic questions to those in the know, and I appreciate any feedback. Thank you to all respondents.
