I run a non-dewalt tool that uses a 20V DC motor and I power it using a 20V Dewalt Battery. The motor is wired direct to the battery. Positive to positive, negative to negative. I use a miniature push button switch with a contact rating of 3amp @ 28V DC. The switch function is OFF-mom. Occasionally, when the switch is activate, something causes the switch to literally explode. Can a 20v battery cause a surge that would destroy a switch?
