First let me specify that my knowledge of batteries, AC/ DC and all that jazz is really limited so please bare with me if my question seems dumb.
I recently purchased an old sailboat and replace the old batteries with new. For my “house” batteries I have 2 12 volt batteries in series for a total of 24v.
Over the past week the boat has not been plugged into shore power so I’ve been depending on my Solar panel to charge the batteries. My solar conched out yesterday and so my house batteries are now dead. I am anchored so there’s no way to charge the batteries with my AC charger.
In a conversation that I had with someone this morning they suggested that I acquire a Lithium battery pack, charge it, take it out to the boat and charge up my AGM’s. My question to this community is, does that sound feasible? If so, do I need to purchase a 12v Lithium battery pack or a 24v? I know absolutely nothing about these devices so your guidance is greatly appreciated.
thanks in advance!
