Lithium carbonate caustic method is to mix lithium carbonate and refined lime milk at a molar ratio of 1:1.08, adjusting the concentration of caustic solution to 18~20g/ L, heating to boiling and stirring strongly.Time of controlling the caustic is 30min.After centrifugation,CaCO3 precipitation and lithium hydroxide mother liquor with a concentration of about 3.5% were obtained. The mother liquor was evaporated, concentrated, crystallized and dried to produce monohydrate lithium hydroxide product.
The disadvantages of traditional drying process are its high cost due to several stage requirement and the usage of lime,causing waste generation.The main objective of vacuum belt dryer is to demonstrate the feasibility of obtaining battery grade lithium hydroxide monohydrate.
