Hello, I had two 12v lead acid batteries I was attempting to wire in series, however I wired them incorrectly, causing a huge arc when I tapped the last connection. I am wondering if one or both of my batteries are still safe to use, or now toast and should recycled.
Instead of connecting the negative of the first battery to the positive of the second, and then connecting the load to the remaining terminals, I connected a second set of jumpers between the remaining two terminals, resulting in said spark. How much damage have I done, and how close did I come to an explosion?
It should be noted I did not have the load connected to the terminals when I placed the second jumper.
Thanks!
