Square batteries are more suitable for market demand in terms of performance. Square batteries have the advantages of small internal resistance, long cycle life, high package reliability, good tolerance, relatively simple grouping, relatively high system energy, etc. With these advantages, square batteries are more adaptable to market demand at this stage.
2, cylindrical battery.
Energy density, group efficiency is low but consistency, security is better.
At present, the key to cylindrical lithium iron phosphate batteries as the leading, its high capacity, high output voltage, excellent charge/discharge cycle safety performance, output voltage is more stable, can be a large flow of electricity discharge, safe and stable operation, no pollution of the environment.
Advantages of cylindrical battery package include: its production process is mature; individual consistency is better; battery pack cost is low, wide range of use; high temperature resistance, not easy to explode, better safety; internal resistance is small, not easy to self-consumption of electricity, is expected to replace the nickel-metal hydride batteries in the enterprise products. Its disadvantages include: heavy overall weight; low space utilization; low grouping efficiency; low energy density; poor radial thermal conductivity; smaller unit capacity; and greater complexity of battery management.
3, soft pack battery.
Excellent performance, but high cost and reliability challenges.
Soft pack battery capacity and energy density are higher. Soft pack battery capacity is mostly in 30Ah-70Ah, its energy density is mostly in 220V-300V, and energy density on the biggest advantage is light, even if the use of the same core, ternary soft pack battery energy density will be higher than the steel shell ternary lithium batteries 40%.
Advantages of soft pack batteries include: good safety performance; light weight, high specific energy; internal resistance is small, thus reducing the self-consumption of the battery; large battery capacity, high charge/discharge multiplier; flexible appearance design. Disadvantages include: high cost, mostly imported domestically; poor consistency, low degree of standardization, low production efficiency; low grouping efficiency; easy to leak; low mechanical strength of the shell.
