Hi sorry I do not know too much about batteries but I have a question for someone who does. Google said this is the best place to ask battery questions.

Is there any possible way to remove these batteries (to use them with other battery powered things like flashlights and lasers) and then once they are dead, put them back in the pack to recharge them so I can use them again in the flashlights? I was going to “figure it out” myself but I’m 99% sure I’d end up destroying the batteries in the process.

    Hi EnriqueElsey
if I understand well you wants to remove those 18650 lithium cells to use in a other application right ?

Yes it’s possible, follow those steps:

    • 1/ first of all you have to know what is the voltage of you global pack to understand if it’s a parallel or a serial assembly. Can you make the measure ? Maybe it’s write on the electronic board or you can mesure using a voltmeter after a complete charge.
    • 2/ remove on cell on the pack and send a picture of the informations write on the label (need cell voltage + capacity). With those information it will be possible to know what is the chemistry. Should be NMC or LFP
    • 3/ you can use cell on your other equipment if voltage is ok
    • 4/ replace cells on you pack to charge it again (be careful to respect the assembly considering nickel strip)

Hope it will be useful ☺️
Looking forward to hearing from you

    Good information on your photo.

indeed it seems to be a 5S1P for a global 18V battery pack.

So considering this information we can understand that:
    18V / 5cells = 3,6V per cell.

It seems to be a 18650 NMC lithium cell.

So be sur it can be ok with your application.

Of course it can be possible to make serial assembly to target your voltage application.

Hi. Sorry for the late reply. So I’ve torn apart two other battery packs identical to this one and have 8 batteries. I use them in my laser and flashlights for my dog when we go out at night. I broke my 18650 charger and bought a new one but it takes sooo long to charge the batteries. But that battery pack can charge 4 batteries in 1 hour. That’s why I want to do this. The batteries work quite well in the laser and flashlights. I’m a little confused by your wording. It is possible to somehow put the batteries back in the pack, once taking them out, to recharge them?

How would I remove the batteries? Do I just cut around the black plastic? I think they are spot welded. Do I just snip off the spot welding? Would that destroy the pack?
Sorry, I know little to nothing about this kind of stuff .

If you want to use this device as a charger, you can cut off your batteries with any knife. Then you can solder the wires with a soldering iron.
Will be the best if you use these plastic cases for your batteries (you can put and remove your batteries any time when you need it):
