A battery pack of 7.2V nominal voltage does not charge since it almost immediately current charging drops to zero
However if the voltage is raised to over the double of the nominal voltage it starts charging with current being very sensitive on voltage. Furthermore below a threshold voltage or a threshold current suddenly charging stop and current drops to zero being again ignited if voltage is raised above a certain threshold.
Under these conditions battery pack overheats so I did not insist on charging
